Christie Howard: Cold Case Quest — chasing destino
On Thanksgiving 2018, 41-year-old Christie Howard was cleaning up after hosting a holiday dinner for family and friends. Shortly before 11 p.m., assailants broke into her northeast Columbus home through the back door. Howard was shot several times before the intruders left.
The police were called at 10:55 p.m. on November 22, 2018. She was pronounced deceased at 11:03 p.m. Howard’s homicide was the 95th in Columbus in 2018.
Witnesses did not recognize the intruders and were unsure of their whereabouts when they fled the house.
Although the Adrian Scott and Christie Howard cases may not be connected, they share similarities. Scott was also shot by unknown assailants on Thanksgiving 2017.
It is strange that the two incidents happened on Thanksgiving a year apart, just a mile apart from each other. According to Google Maps, it is a 3-minute drive or a 20-minute walk.
Though there is no direct link, the similarities suggest that it is worth exploring any potential connections that may exist.
