Cold Case Quest: Andrea Flenoury

Andrea Flenoury’s, aka Gemini, death is still a mystery after 14 years. Her case went cold shortly afterward.

Her body was found on August 7, 2005, at approximately 7:30 a.m in Akron, Ohio. So the actual murder probably took place in the early morning hours of Aug 7 or late on Aug. 6.
Flenoury was found in the Ohio & Erie Canal. She was wrapped in chains. The cause of death was strangulation.

Jason Conrad, boyfriend, Conrad was abusive on at least one occasion. If Flenoury was hiding a secret or was going to leave him, he could have killed her if he found out.

On the other hand, what if she had a secret love interest? Things could have turned sour so the person killed her.

Flenoury was pregnant at the time of her death. Conrad was proven to be the father of her baby. Conrad was cleared. So he was not investigated any further. I wonder if his alibi was airtight. He passed a polygraph but that doesn’t mean he didn’t do it.

At the time, there were no other leads. Whatever secrets Flenoury had have mostly remained hidden to this day. Many people think the case is related to the April 2005 death of Donna Pittinger. It is possible that they both were killed by the same person. There’s more information in a book, The Serial Killer’s Apprentice by James Renner.

If anyone was near the Ohio & Erie Canal towpath on between midnight and 7:30 am. on August 7, 2005, they may have seen something and not come forward. It’s not too late to pass along information.
