Rogue Wave by J. Bengtsson released today
Rogue Wave could be loosely based on my boyfriend and I if we had dated in high school. Whenever the kid asks him about what he was like in school, he kind of has to tell her that he was a troublemaker and not a fan of school. He was not interested in going to college.
I was the opposite. I had detention one time — for tardiness. My grades were good. I would have gotten into most colleges all by myself.
So here we are ten years later, still kind of an odd couple.
The main difference between ourselves and the characters is that neither one of us surfs. There’s still time to learn. It’s been on my bucket list for a really long time. For now, we watch surfing movies and documentaries. Ok, I watch the documentaries. Nerdy girl until the end.
We cannot wait to go to the beach . . . any beach. Some of us need a vacation sooner than later. I’m looking forward to reading this book at the beach this summer. Who knows, maybe we’ll go somewhere that has surfing lessons.
