If you need to hear music to wake up and get moving, then let me suggest Pleasure Venom of Austin, Texas. Listen to Pleasure Venom. Drink some coffee. You’ll be awake like never before. Punk rock and coffee are what I use to get energized. Pleasure Venom is not for the faint of heart.

You can find their self-titled album on bandcamp. I like the song “I Can’t Find My Black Lipstick.” Same girl. Same.

There’s a song called “Gunt.” Apparently, gunt is a real word. According to dictionary.com, “Gunt is slang for a fatty area below the bully button and above the pubic area of a woman, often as a result of childbirth, weight gain, or just having a totally normal body.” Who knew? Well, Pleasure Venom knows. Whoever the band wrote the song about also knows.

If you happen to go to SXSW this year, Pleasure Venom will be performing on several different days. You probably need this band in your life right now.
